The organizers are pleased to announce that during the FABE Forum two academic speakers, Prof. David Alexander (England) and Prof. Anna Szychta (Poland) will present their speeches.
ACADEMIC SPEAKERS
Professor David Alexander, University of Birmingham, U.K.
David Alexander is an emeritus professor at the University of Birmingham, England.
Topic of speech:
"Reality and research in a global accounting world".
David is interested in accounting theory, financial reporting, international developments and regulation, including classification, IFRS, cultural differences and practical application of regulation in both national and international contexts, with emphasis on emerging economies. Other interests include accounting education, the philosophical underpinnings of language and communication, 'reality', concept understanding and concept (non?)transferability.
He is co-author of several key text books, and continues to research and publish, mainly in cooperation with younger colleagues from a variety of countries. He has the strengths, and the weaknesses, of being interested in many things.

Anna Szychta is an associate professor, head of Accounting Theory Section in the Accounting Department, Faculty of Management, University of Lodz, Poland.
Her research interests include: the development of management accounting on a global scale and the use of its methods in the enterprises in Poland, as well as issues of theory, methodology and history of accounting.
Anna Szychta is the author and co-author of over 170 publications, including 15 works published abroad (in English and Japanese) and co-editor and editor of 11 collective works.
She is the editor in chief of Polish scientific journal in the area of accounting - „Zeszyty Teoretyczne Rachunkowości” (www.ztr.skwp.pl).
